About Us

Our diets are pretty strict I'd say, but you have to be if you want to feel great everyday. We try to stay away from the six white poisons, which are white flour, white rice, refined sugar, soy, table salt and pasteurized dairy products. We stay away from stimulants such as coffee and sugar and we eat gluten-free. (We aren't vegan or vegetarian. We eat fresh caught salmon and grass fed bison from time to time. We've been called flexitarians before, but I don't like being labelled.)

The reason we keep these out of our diet is simple. They are all acidic. They leave us feeling sick, bloated or uneasy and they will one day lead to something horrible, disease or worse.

Tod is and will always be my hero. My rock. He helps me when I need it and is very supportive. He is an inspiration to everyone. He is my healthy runner. He loves books like Born To Run, Finding Ultra, and Eat & Run, stories about vegans who get enough protein in their diet (without meat) to run and run and run, long marathons, which is Tod's personal goal.

My goal right now is just to be the best mom and wife I can be. We have a 1 year old baby girl who is stealing all of our attention right now. We also have 2 more wonderful kids, a son and a daughter. We have a dog named Mugsy too.

In my daily routine I try to eat raw until dinner time. That works best for me. I used to be anaemic, tired all the time and low on iron. My iron levels are now normal and I'm feeling rested everyday (even when I wake up twice a night to feed).

Tod and I love food! I am constantly trying to find new recipes to modify. Tod and the kids are my guinea pigs. I'm usually holding my breath while I wait to get the verdict of my new recipes...good or bad?! They say it's always good, and we have some picky children in this house hold. I bake a lot too! I was so surprised when they gobbled up all of the muffins.

I made two great friends when I married Tod, his parents! They are wonderful people and I want them over every weekend! I love cooking for them! They are also very healthy, which is so nice.

Don't get me wrong when I say we are healthy, we still love to enjoy a piece of chocolate cake once in a while. I make one mean ice cream cake ! Please check out my recipes here.
