Why choose organic over non-organic?

Health = Wealth

I know usually when you think of the word WEALTH you think of lots and lots of money, but when I think of the word WEALTH I think of what I have and everything I can be grateful for. Like my husband, our kids, our home, our dog, my car, our garden, our love, our strength, our HEALTH.

I think the only way we are really able to enjoy all of these things is because we are healthy. We don't have to worry about disease or sickness. We can look forward to life in our old age, together. We can enjoy our grandchildrens company and play and be care free. A life without pain or stress, a viberant life. I think that is what each one of us should long for, be excited about.

I still believe there is a higher power that decides what our future holds but that's another story.

My body is a temple and I will treat it that way. I always wonder if people can tell that I'm a healthy person just by the way I look. I want my health to shine from the inside out.

How often do you smile about your life? A long time ago I never did. I was drinking and partying and looking for fun. Looking for the answer to happiness and I couldn't find it.

Health just stumbled into my life one day and I am so grateful that it did cuz I will never let it go. Health to me is eating as much organic (if you can get it) fruit and vegetables as you can throughout your day, staying away from all those nasty refined sugars, fast foods and perservatives (all the man made food). The food from God/nature is key. The foods that are living give us life.

Now how do I help others around me feel the way I do? I hope that one day the stumble across my website and read about my life and I hope that it will inspire them to change their eating habits. That is all. Then their life will start to slowly, but surely, change...all for the better.

My diet is:

Morning: Lemon water and then 20+ minutes later I have a piece of fruit

Noon: Sprouted buckwheat plus raw oatmeal that was previously soaked over night with a tad of maple syrup, pure vanilla extract and cinnamon and a couple veggies on the side.

Snack: Mary's crackers, my raw energy balls, home made granola bars, kale chips or nuts and seeds.

Pre work out shake: with frozen berries (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and strawberries), 1 banana, half a scoup of Vega, 1/4 tsp maca, 1/4 tsp chlorella, 1/4 tsp spirulina and coconut water.

Dinner: We always have a big salad, one covering our whole plate, full of spinach and lettuce, red pepper, tomatoe, cauliflower, broccoli, cucumber and pumpkin seeds with a vinaigrette. And a main course from this site.

Snack: Herbal Tea and then 20+ minutes later Coconut milk chocolate ice cream or popcorn with unsalted organic butter with celtic sea salt.

Mmm

...and that's it. No chips, no pop, no crap! And I've learned just like all of you will/have. Eating a clean diet is great but as soon as you get a craving for a DQ blizzard..you drive the store, you order, you eat it and half an hour later your sitting on the toilet wishing you hadn't eaten that. But at least you will never crave it again and believe me you learn your lesson more then once (with other nasty foods).

Where I really see that Health=wealth is with our kids. Because they thrive like 100% (exaggerating) more then us adults do, with all their energy, we can really see for ourselves how good of a job they are doing. Our kids have energy from all the vitamins and minerals they have stored in their bodies, not from being on a refined sugar high. Our sons eczema is clearing up, their moods are more positive, they feel good and are rarely sick (our son got perfect attendance at school this year) and every summer their allergies are becoming minute. Makes me smile.

Being healthy is a way of life and you have to inforce it in your home, always make it a positive thing. It is hard at first but after when you kick out all those old bad habits you will feel great about yourself (not that you don't already). Your skin will have a permanent glow, you will be able to lose weight easily, your mood around friends and family will be happy and uplifting. Everyday challanges do still occure but you will be able to face them with a clear mind and know that everything happens for a reason. Things will work out on their own.

Waking up every morning and seeing our beautiful daughters face, bright and healthy, makes me smile and be so thankful that I'm not sick, in pain or hung over and wanting the day to end, but instead I embrace every minute and laugh and play with her. I wasn't a healthy person when our son was born and I was grumpy and erritable most days. I am embarrassed of the way I was but also I know those times had to happen. They made me realize I needed to change.

So here we are. Eating a clean diet. we are healthy and wealthy.
