Why choose organic over non-organic?

Eating a diet full of raw foods is one of the healthiest things you can do in your life. Ron Garner, the author of our favourite book Concious Health, states that a healthy goal is a diet consists of 70% raw foods and 30% cooked. That is our diet in the winter and when more raw foods are readily available in the spring & summer months, we eat almost 90%+ raw.

 

Each day should be filled with raw fruits and raw veggies. Raw fruit should be eaten alone for breakfast for better digestion. A raw salad should be eaten everyday with lunch or dinner. Raw nuts and seeds can be eaten through out the day as a snack. Raw shakes are also very beneficial and are a nice change, instead of a meal.

 

Using a dehydrator can help keep raw foods. You can make treats such as cookies, kale chips, crackers, fruit leather, onion rings, zucchini chips, pizza crust, flatbread and more. Recipes books come with dehydraters when purchased. Check out my recipes for my dehydrated foods here.

 

Food has the most nutrients when it's alive. You must consume living food to get life. 

 

When I transitioned into a diet that was mostly raw (around 95% raw) I was excited for the adventure ahead. I did my research and I knew that a slow transition was best. Your body will recognize the large amount of alkalizing foods coming and it and will start to store energy. All of this stored energy will help your body start to heal, it will go into cleanse mode, but with cleansing comes the spring cleaning, so expect to break out, have more frequent bowel movements, get rashes, head aches and get sick. All of these signs are positive. Do not take drugs ( I recommend taking oil of oregano to help clear the body out efficiently) like over the counter perscriptions or pills of any kind. This will only stop the healing process and you will keep all those toxins in your body. Kind of defeats the purpose of eating healthy. The cleansing process only takes a week and I promise you, you won't feel sick enough to miss work. You may want to slow down on excercising though.

 

Once your healing cleanse is over I promise you, you will feel back to your regular self but only 100 times better! You will have tons of energy, your body will be cleared of all that nasty funk it was storing from all those years of partying ( or whatever toxic things you did in your younger years) and your skin will glow. Your digestive tract will be working at optimum levels so get ready to keep eating amazing foods.
