Why choose organic over non-organic?

"Our Lifestyle choice is not a diet"

The diet that we follow in our home isn't vegetarian, nor vegan. It isn't paleo or raw but is a mixture of everything. We have taken bits and pieces of other diets to fit our healthy lifestyle. We eat and drink what we think is right for our bodies; to help maintain a healthy life and a healthy future.

We eat all organic:

  • grass fed meats such as bison, and beef

  • fresh caught salmon

  • legumes

  • fruit

  • veggies

  • eggs

  • nuts and seeds

  • healthy oils, such as unpasteurized coconut oil and extra virgin cold pressed olive oil

  • gluten-free pasta

  • brown rice

  • Unsalted butter, melted at low temperatures

We stay away from:

  • cereal grains

  • peanuts

  • All other dairy

  • refined sugar

  • potatoes, use sparingly

  • processed foods

  • table salt

  • refined vegetables oils

  • alcohol/drugs

  • carcinogens

There are so many reasons why we decided to be healthy and be strict with our diet. Our son has eczema, I was over weight, Tod was looking for the meaning of life and Chloe had bad allergies. All of our health journeys are totally different stories and happened at completely different times. I will tell you the just of it all.

Tod became healthy before we were together. He was single and was looking for more out of life. He came across the book Conscious Health by Ron Garner and was forever changed. Mind, body and soul. 3 years later I came into Tod's life and he showed me what is was like to eat and be healthy. I read the book and at first I wasn't convinced. It basically went against everything I was taught, against everything in western medicine. But I wanted to have what Tod had, energy and that glow! So I stuck to the book and eventually became convinced because I saw that it was working. I changed so many things about myself for the better. The way I ate effected how I acted. The way I acted effected my life. It was all connected and through trial and error I began to realise what was right for me and our family.

  1. We started by adding more organic fruits and veggies to all of our meals

  2. We ate grass-fed meat only twice a week and only at dinner time

  3. We stopped eating fast foods and junk foods with preservatives, additives and dyes

  4. Stopped using table salt and switched to celtic sea salt

  5. We cut out the six white poisons, which are pasteurized dairy, table salt, unfermented soy, white rice, white pasta and refined and cane sugar

  6. Stopped using the microwave because it kills nutrients

  7. Started working out twice a week

  8. Switched to unpasteurized cheese and organic unsalted butter

  9. Cut out all oils except for cold pressed extra virgin olive oil and coconut oil

  10. Starting buying gluten-free products

  11. Started baking gluten-free

  12. Followed the rules of proper food combinations

  13. Cut meat back to once a month

  14. Starting to eat more raw meals

(This list happened over 1 and half years. Just remember...baby steps)

...and the outcome of healthy eating?

  • clear skin

  • no disease, which means you won't be spending time in the hospital during your old years

  • healthy bowel movements

  • positive life

  • more energy

  • less sleep is needed

  • maintain the perfect weight for your body

  • more muscle tone

  • enhance brain function

  • think clearly and make better life decisions

  • stronger immune system, you will be able to fight off colds and flu's faster and get them less often

  • mental alertness

  • vitality

We aren't vegan, paleo, vegetarian, or raw. We don't follow any diet or scientifically regulated regime. We eat and do what is right for us. As should everyone. Diets are short-term and destructive to the body, going back and forth between healthy meals and unhealthy meals is too hard on your body. But living a healthy lifestyle permanently will help you out, not just with your weight but in the long run. I want to see our kids get married and have children. I want to see their kids get married and have children. I want to actually play with my grandchildren when I am retired. I don't want the last 10 years of my life to be in the hospital. About 80% of the people on the earth aren't doing anything about there health. They leave it in the hands of doctors, who really don't care. People either don't know that eating effects their health and their future or they don't believe it will help. I believe that it will help. I have now been on this health journey for 3 years. I rarely ever get sick and when I do get a cold it's only for one day and it doesn't wear me down. Eating healthy is the best decision you can make for you and your family.
