Makes 20 bars

 

Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup raw almond butter

  • 2 cups rice puffs - so sugar added

  • 1 cup oats - quick

  • 4 tbsp. unpasteurized honey or agave 

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 2 oz. hemp hearts (optional)

Topping

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips 

 

What to do

 

Heat a large pan on low heat for 5 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and add the milk, almond butter, honey and vanilla. Stir until it becomes a creamy mixture.

 

Add oats, hemp hearts and rice puffs to a bowl and add warm mixture to it. Stir well with a spoon until all the oats and rice puffs are coated.

 

Add to a square baking dish lined with parchment paper, for easy cleaning. Spread out and flatten. Put dish into the refrigerator for an hour.

 

Melt chocolate chips in a bowl placed in a pot of hot water. Let melt over 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Take dish out of the fridge and pour melted chocolate on top. Spread chocolate over the top of the rice puff bar and put back into the fridge until serving time.

 

Cut into 20 bars and Enjoy! Keep refrigerated.
